Monthly Prayer Letter

December 2009

Dear Brothers and sisters in Christ, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Hope your Christmas was wonderful and filled with family and friends! Ours was great!  We had 7 singles over, 6 were soldiers, and 4 were new, 3 we had not met until that day.  What a wonderful blessing and encouragement from our Lord.  We read from the Bible and shared the true reason for celebrating CHRISTmas!  They stayed all day, and several said it was so nice not to spend Christmas in the barracks all alone. Most of them were able to call home and speak to there loved ones also.  We really need a van though. We had to make two trips to carry them all home. Most had been here less than a month some only a few days, so they don’t have any transportation. Most of the singles on base don't.  The first trip out was ok, but by the second trip, the roads had iced over and were getting really slick.  A van is a definite necessity now, so please be praying about that. We can probably get a used one fairly inexpensively, we hope!  But, we need one that will run well.

We also had a Christmas dinner the Friday before and that went well. We had one new soldier, and most of the couples that have been active in the ministry here.  Next year we want to be able to thank them more, but dinner, fellowship and the Word, was good this year.

It’s hard to believe how fast this year has flown by!  We appreciate so much each of you who diligently pray for us and support this ministry.  We appreciate so much the special gifts that some of you have given us this year.  Without God’s help through you, we would find it so much harder here. We praise the Lord for each of you and pray for you daily.

In our last letter we told you about the availability of the building next door. We are still waiting on the owner, and he has told us it will be after the first of the year before the current renters move. Please continue to pray that God will show us His will and that it will be an affordable price. We realize it will be a step of faith for the church to take on more rental

property, and it will take some sacrifice on our part to help with this new stewardship.  But, God is faithful and will supply everything for His ministry as He has always done.  It will be very surprising if the rent is any less than 500 euro a month, which with the exchange rate will be very expensive. If anyone is interested in helping with this, please let us know.

It has been a blessing and privilege to work on the church here this year and help make it look more like a church and less like the old garage it was.  The new building will require a lot of renovation also. So we are already praying and saving for that.  Please pray with us about this as well.

Please pray for one of our soldiers who will be having surgery on Jan. 12.  and for our 2 newly saved soldiers this month for spiritual growth.

We appreciate those who write us and update us on your ministries and families. If you have time we would love to hear from all of you! (Pictures are from our Christmas meals)

Thank you again for your prayers and support.
